News in the world of Music and Art and calendar
for
The week of Monday, August 24, 2015

If
I’m not mistaken, the last email blast I sent out to you was March 2 of this
year. The reasons for that are many, but after talking to some folks about the
need for such a thing, I think I’m in the mood to begin this weekly project once
more.
It
has been quite a year - what with our move to our new and shiny location, to my
cancer re-diagnosis and the hoops we’ve had to jump through there - has made
things pretty challenging.
In
case you aren’t aware of our new home, we invite you to come on over and check
it out. It’s a very cozy spot compared to our old store and we’re getting to
enjoy it immensely. It’s smaller, but it’s still Groovacious!! And thanks again
to all our wonderful friends who helped us move the whole darned thing – we
really appreciate and love you guys!
Just
last week I finished another round of radiation on my throat for the cancer that
was there. The week before I finished the chemo and we’ve hoping and praying
beyond hope that this is it and it’s all gone. We’ll find out in a couple of
weeks. Thank you everyone for you constant prayers and concerns. It means a lot
to me and has kept me going.
I
also wanted to quickly mention how pleased I was with how Groovefest turned out
this year. I didn’t do much; but the crew sure stepped up and made it the best
ever! Thank you Groove Crew!! And thanks to our Partners who paid for the thing
and made it possible.
Now,
on with this weeks calendar. I get notes and messages about what is occurring in
our area and I also do research to find the things that are up-and-coming that I
feel you would be interested in. Obviously, I can’t know about everything, so if
you have and event you’d like to get published, email me and I’ll make sure to
get ii on the list. If you don’t let me know, I can’t add it.
I
like to include the Groovacious Top 12 best sellers for the week. Folks have
told me that it’s invaluable, and that’s what I like to hear.
