Plan now to attend a dramatic recitation from Moby-Dick by Lisa and art show and birthday party for Tim. Lisa has memorized the words of Herman Melville because she wants you to hear them and take you to a time and place when men spent years at sea and darted out into the wild ocean in a small boat, spear in hand to chase down the monsters of the deep and when captured, drag them aboard to transform those beasts into a commodity. Oil. Moby-Dick is about oil and the innate desire to conquer, to maintain a life of luxury and ease at the expense of the natural world and anything in its way not excluding humanity. Moby-Dick is not only a sea story; it is a journey into the psyche and complexity of life. Friday & Saturday, September 27 & 28, 4:00PM-10:00PM: 5th Annual ZION CANYON MUSIC FESTIVAL at the Springdale Town Park in Springdale, featuring NICKI BLUHM & THE GRAMBLERS, GROOVE SESSION, RAINBOW GIRLS, FELIX Y LOS GATOS, BETTER OFF WITH THE BLUES, THE 3 HATS TRIO, HOLLERING PINES and WE ARE MIRRORS. www.zioncanyonmusicfestival.com
Saturday, September 28, 7:30PM: MOBY DICK, a recitation by LISA CRETSINGER as Ishmael; includes a nautical-themed art show. Oil. Moby-Dick is about oil and the innate desire to conquer, to maintain a life of luxury and ease at the expense of the natural world and anything in it's way not excluding humanity. Moby-Dick is not only a sea story, it is a journey into the psyche and complexity of life. Donations will fund the 2014 Groovefest American Music Festival held in June.  www.facebook.com/events/120804761423343/
