Press release will be on here very soon!! Thanks for the support everybody!

Please spread the word so that your friends will not lose track of us!

Here is the official press release:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Cedar City icon Groovacious to move to new location in Cedar City
Offering 20% off all product in the store

As of April 1, 2015, Cedar City record store Groovacious will be in its new location at 195 W. 600 S., Unit 2, in Cedar City. But first, Tim & Lisa Cretsinger would like to offer their valued customers the opportunity to save 20% off of their entire purchases immediately and until April 1, 2015.

After relocating from Keizer/Salem, Oregon to Cedar City in the fall of 2000, Groovacious has been known as a hub of the music arts in town; not only providing recorded music of all genres and formats to residents, but providing a way for musicians an artists alike to network and work together.

An open mic was held at the location at 173 N. 100 W. for twelve years and was discontinued in winter of 2013. In addition, more than 500 live concerts - featuring musicians from all over the United States - were held on the stage in the store over the course of fourteen years. A monthly project called “The Cedar Songwriters Showcase” was developed and held for many years.

Numerous plays and productions, directed by SUU students were put on over the years on the Groovacious stage, including one directed by co-owner Lisa Cretsinger. She also presented a monologue of recitations of Moby Dick last year.

Other elements of the iconic store’s existence have spawned such projects as “Cedar Breaks Out”, a collection of local artists, which was released in 2011, two albums by local artist Steven Swift on the Groovacious Platters label, a CD by local musician Brent Smith, a DVD in 2008 from Groovefest Music & Art Festival, a full scale music & art festival that has grown from obscurity to national prominence and developed and organized by the owners Tim and Lisa Cretsinger and the Groove Crew.

The contributions to local events by Tim and Lisa are too numerous to list and they are extremely thankful for the opportunity to serve in so many capacities over the years. But things change and a series of events over the course of the past year have compelled them to make a change by moving to their new location which will be just west of Top Spot and next to Parts Plus in Cedar City.

Groovacious is currently located at 173 N 100 W. The new location is at 195 W. 600 S. (650) Unit 2 in Cedar City.

Questions can be answered by calling 435-867-9800 and Groovacious can also be found at www.groovacious.com and on Facebook.
