Wednesday, October 17, 7:00PM: GUITARS UNPLUGGED AUDITIONS at the SUU Sterling Church Auditorium at 351 W. Center St. in Cedar City.

Wednesday, October 17, 7:30PM: The SUU Department of Music presents An Autumn Choral Concert at the Heritage Center at 105 N. 100 E. in Cedar City. Admission is $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for youth. The program features performances by SUU’s Concert Choir, Women’s Choir and Opus.  435-586-7872.

Wednesday, October 17, 8:00PM: Open Mic Night at Groovacious! FREE - sign-ups at 7:30; music, spoken word, comedy, dance etc. Participants are selected at random and limited to 2 songs each or about ten minutes. Thursday, October 18, 7:00PM: Art and Honesty: A Community Discussion at The Grind Coffee House at 19 N. Main St. in Cedar City. Eleven artists will have their work displayed at The Grind and Braun Books from October 8th to October 20th. Friday, October 19: SCOTT HOLT BAND (2011 Groovefest alumni) at Mike’s Tavern at 90 W. Hoover, Cedar City. Scott Holt played with the legendary Buddy Guy for 10 years! The added influences of other blues greats such as B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix, and Stevie Ray Vaughn inspired Scott to develop his own unique style that honors the architects of original blues music.

Saturday, October 20, 8:00PM: JUSTIN ROTH at St. Jude’s Episcopal Church at 70 N. 200 W. in Cedar City. As part of "New Music for New Audiences" month the Artiste Sanctuary Concert Series presents Justin Roth. An extremely accomplished guitarist also he style is reminiscent of a Leo Kottke or Michael Hedges. Reflective lyrics, bordering on poetic, are nearly profound.
