It’s beginning to become evident that the holiday season is fast approaching. I don’t know about you, but as for me, this year has gone way too fast. One of the reasons why the season is evident is because of the plethora of Christmas programs happening this week in our town. Check out the list below and if you haven’t gotten in the mood for the holidays yet, this is bound to make you convinced. Have fun – there are a lot of wonderful family oriented things to do and see.

I’m looking forward to seeing all of you at the store during this season.

Monday - Tuesday/ Friday - Saturday, 7:00pm /matinees at 2:00pm: A Christmas Story: The Musical in the Aladdin Theater at 27 N Main St. in Parowan. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12 for this musical comedy based on the film of the same name.

Monday, December 7, 7:30pm: The Cedar High Redmen Christmas Band Concert in the Cedar High Auditorium at 703 W 600 S in Cedar City. The Band Concert will feature all 142 Cedar High band students in the combined Symphonic, Concert, and JV Bands and Percussion Ensemble opening with "The Star Spangled Banner". The Color Guard is provided by the "Triple Deuce" of the Utah National Guard. Admission is free.

Tuesday, December 8, 7:00pm: Christmas Benefit Concert: Variety Show in the Randall L. Jones Theatre on the SUU Campus at 351 W University Blvd. in Cedar City. This special one-night only performance is a fundraiser for the Southern Utah University Department of Theatre Arts and Dance Venture Up trip. Suggested minimum donation of $10 for adults and $5 for students/youth at the door.

Wednesday, December 9, 6:00pm: Parowan Elementary Christmas Program in the Parowan High Auditorium at168 N Main St. in Parowan. Admission is free.  435-477-3366

Wednesday, December 9, 7:00pm: In Jubilo Christmas Concert in the Heritage Center Theatre at 105 N 100 E in Cedar City. This year, along with the Southern Utah Handbell Choir and Southern Utah Children's Choir the newly formed Community Orchestra as well as the Canyon View Middle School Choir and Chamber Orchestra will join Cedar City's Community Women's Chorale, In Jubilo. Tickets are free and are available at Lin's, Smith's and the Heritage Center Box Office.

Thursday, December 10, 6:30pm: Parowan High Band & Choir Concert in the Parowan High Auditorium at 168 N Main St. in Parowan, admission is FREE. For information call 435-477-3366.

Friday, December 11, 9:30pm: Off The Cuff Farewell to 2015 at Off the Cuff Comedy Improvisation at 913 S Main St. in Cedar City. Now it's time to bid adieu to 2015 and take our winter break before coming back stronger than ever in January, and we want you to be there when we do! Saturday, December 12, 10:00am/3:00pm: Ullr Fest held all day beginning at 10:00am with actual festivities beginning at 3:00 pm at Brian Head Resort, Giant Steps Patio in Brian Head. Saturday, December 12, 1:00pm – 6:00pm: Spirit of Christmas Festival at Stratum Real Estate Group at 365 S Main St. in Cedar City. Saturday, December 12, 7:00pm: Cedar City Children's Musical Theatre Mini Musical: Cinderella Kids held at 1579 N Main St, Ste #108 in Cedar City. Featuring ages from Kindergarten to 5th Grade. The mini musical is an opportunity for children to gain more experience with more stage time, performing opportunities, and smaller casts. admission TBA.
