Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate our 20th Birthday on November 9th!! It was a lot of fun and I’d like to thank Steven Swift, Chuck Triplett, Pablo “Of the Mountain” and Dennis Green for the entertainment, and Charles Cuthbertson for the touching presentation about his first Groovacious experience! I’d also like to thank Peggy Green for the cupcakes and nice spread (as usual), including the balloons! And thank you Nancy Graf for helping with more treats and helping us decorate.

Monday, November 12, 7:30PM: BOUNDLESS JOURNEYS: SUU Faculty and Student Dance Concert at the Randall L. Jones Theatre on the SUU Campus at 351 W. Center St. in Cedar City. The concert features pieces choreographed by Lane Gifford, Burch Mann, Chien-Ying Wang, Eric Harper, Camille Bahoravitch, Rebecca Boizelle, Katelin Ruzzamenti, Alex Wall, Ariel Hardesty, Jana Kim, and Dustin Liechty and starring dancers from the SUU Dance Department and Orchesis Dance Company! Tickets are free for current SUU students, $8.00 for SUU Faculty/Staff, $10.00 General Admission, and $5.00 for children and students.  www.suu.edu/arts.

Tuesday, November 13, 7:30PM: SUU JAZZ BAND invites swing fans to take a Midnight Voyage in the Sharwan Smith Center Living Room on the SUU campus at 351 W. Center St. in Cedar City. Directed by Dr. Thomas Herb, the evening's rousing program will have the audience wanting to jump up and dance and, in one case, conga. Wednesday, November 14, 7:30PM: SUU STRING ENSEMBLE in the Thorley Recital Hall on the SUU campus at 351 W. Center St. in Cedar City. The String Ensemble, under the direction of Professor Xun Sun, performs a program that includes Antonio Vivaldi's "Concerto for Four Violins Op. 3 No. 1," Franz Liszt's "Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2" Lullaby by William Hofeldt an d a Chinese folk melody called "Little Cabbage." Wednesday, November 14, 8:00PM: Open Mic Night at Groovacious! FREE - sign-ups at 7:30; music, spoken word, comedy, dance etc. Participants are selected at random and limited to 2 songs each or about ten minutes. Thursday, November 15, 12:00PM: MATTHEW MARSHALL, one of New Zealand's leading classical guitarists will play in the Thorley Recital Hall on the SUU Campus at 351 W. Center St. in Cedar City. The program will feature “Gigue” by David Kellner, Australian composer Graeme Koehne's “A Closed World of Fine Feelings” and “Grand Design, Sonatina” by Federico Moreno Torroba, “Revoir Paris” by Charles Trenet and “Jongo” by Paulo Bellinati. Thursday, November 15, 7:30PM: SUU WOODWIND & BRASS ENSEMBLES perform a joint concert in Thorley Recital Hall on the SUU campus at 351 W. Center St. in Cedar City. Under the direction of Dr. Virginia Stitt, the Woodwind Ensemble performs Arthur Woodbury's "When Nod Dreams," selections from 'Jazz Suite' by Joseph Horowitz, several movements from 'Tortoise Suite' by Helga Warner-Buhlmann and Franz Lehar's "Gold and Silver Waltzes." A special highlight will be a series of classic children's songs arranged by Christopher Weait. SUU's rousing Brass Ensemble also appears under the direction of Dr. Adam Lambert. Their program includes Gioachino Rossini's William Tell Overture, Jose Padilla's El Relicario, Victor Ewald's No. 3 Quintet, Op. 7; Eric Ewazen's Western Fanfare and several Dixie Land classics. When: Saturday, November 17th, 2012
Karyn Whittemore, the singer and songwriter for LOVE CREATURE, says she is looking forward to performing an acoustic show in southern Utah's most unique music store, Groovacious. The free concert takes place the Saturday before Thanksgiving, on November 17th at 7:00PM.
"I thought this would be a perfect time to share some of our more soulful and inspirational songs in an intimate setting," she says.
Groovacious just celebrated their 20th year anniversary on November 9th and has been in Cedar City for 12 years with customers traveling as far as Las Vegas and beyond for the treasure trove of CDs and records. 
"I remember when Groovacious first opened here.  I had my first CD release party there in 2001 and am thrilled to play there again now with songs from my latest album and some other new songs," says Whittemore.
