September 12 - November 9, 1:00PM – 7:00PM: Jim Jones: The San Blas Years at the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery on the SUU campus at 351 W. University Blvd. in Cedar City. Renowned for his vibrant canvases of the southern Utah and southwest landscape, Jim Jones lived in the Mexican village of San Blas for a period of nine years. This exhibition features paintings depicting life in the atmospheric village. From a street scene capturing a youngster learning the guitar to a series of vivid portraits of local personages, these paintings showcase a rarely seen side of Jones’ beginnings.
