Saturday, September 28, 7:30PM: MOBY DICK, a recitation by LISA CRETSINGER as Ishmael; includes a nautical-themed art show. Plan now to attend a dramatic recitation from Moby-Dick by Lisa and art show and birthday party for Tim. Lisa has memorized the words of Herman Melville because she wants you to hear them and take you to a time and place when men spent years at sea and darted out into the wild ocean in a small boat, spear in hand to chase down the monsters of the deep and when captured, drag them aboard to transform those beasts into a commodity. Oil. Moby-Dick is about oil and the innate desire to conquer, to maintain a life of luxury and ease at the expense of the natural world and anything in it's way not excluding humanity. Moby-Dick is not only a sea story, it is a journey into the psyche and complexity of life. Donations will fund the 2014 Groovefest American Music Festival held in June. www.facebook.com/events/120804761423343/
