Now through September 1: 52nd Annual Utah Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City offering matinee performances at 2:00PM and evening performances at 8:00PM in three theaters. The Festival also offers a nightly Greenshow at 7:00PM, backstage tours, seminars, and play orientations. Plays featured this season in repertory are: ‘King John,’ ‘The Tempest,’ Love’s Labour’s Lost,’ Anything Goes,’ ‘Twelve Angry Men,’ & ‘Peter and the Starcatchers’. Monday through Saturday, 9:00AM – 5:00PM: Southern Utah Watercolor Society Special Exhibit held at the Frontier Homestead State Park Museum at 635 N. Main St. in Cedar City, through September 1st. Admission is $3.00 per person. 435-586-9290.

Tuesday, August 27: NEW RELEASES AT GROOVACIOUS! Here is a sample of the great list of albums coming out his week ALABAMA, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, BELLE & SEBASTIAN, BIG SEAN, CRASH OF RHINOS, DEVILDRIVER, BOB DYLAN, EVERLAST, FRANZ FERDINAND, JOHN FRUSCIANTE, ROBBIE FULKS, JARS OF CLAY, JUICY J, KRIZZ KALIKO, LABRINTH, LITTLE RIVER BAND, MICHAEL MONROE, THE RIDES (Stephen Stills, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Barry Goldberg!). Many of these albums, as usual, will be on warm, cozy - fun to hold and play - vinyl!

Wednesday, August 28, 6:00 – 9:00PM: 7th Annual Cool August Nite Car Show at Bradshaw Chevrolet at 360 N. Main St. in Cedar City. There will be lots of cool cars and trucks, good food and drawings for fun prizes. All proceeds go to the “Fight Like a Girl” charity that helps families who are struggling financially because of current medical illnesses.

Thursday, August 29, 5:00 – 9:00PM: Paint the Town Red on Cedar City’s Main Street, from Center to Hoover. New arriving SUU Students can enjoy student club & organization booths. Saturday August 31, 7:30PM: NED DOHENY at the Music Barn in Parowan. A legendary singer-songwriter and guitarist, Ned's first album was released in 1973 on Asylum records. His friends and label mates in those early days included Jackson Browne, Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt and The Eagles. Ned's Labor Day weekend performance will include songs from his latest CD "The Darkness Beyond The Fire", as well as some of his older songs made famous by other artists, like " A Love Of Your Own " (Average White Band) and " What Cha' Gonna Do For Me " (Chaka Khan).
